Dave has been training with Adam for 7 years, 2-3 times a week. Find out more about how he has recovered from his injuries here!
· How long have you been training with Adam and why did you start?
I’ve been training with Adam for about 7 years. The reason I started was to get some sort of rehabilitation after a motorcycle accident and also to keep my head in a good place, as I had got depressed after the accident.
· How often do you train with him and how often independently?
I train with Adam 2-3 times a week and usually another 1 or 2 days on my own, depending on workload and commitments!
· What is your favourite exercise?
I love any exercises that target the triceps, as I love the feeling of having big arms.
· What is your least favourite exercise?
I hate pull-ups with a passion… But I still do them, as Adam says I need to work on my power to weight ratio.
· How has training with Adam helped you to achieve your goals?
Training with Adam has made me stronger and have much more self-confidence and I look well for my age. His training has also really helped with my injuries and got me back on track both physically and mentally. I was one of the first people in the UK to have all my metal work post-accident removed from my leg as I built so much muscle and strength, thanks to Adam.
· What has been your ‘proud of myself’ moment in your health and fitness journey?
Seven years ago I was facing a real possibility of having my leg amputated. Now, I can squat and deadlift and can keep up with all the twenty year-olds at my gym! There’s still life in the old dog yet!
· Do you follow a strict food plan?
My food plan is not as dedicated as a professional athlete. However I eat good quality food including meat, fish, vegetables, and I keep away from takeaways and processed food, despite owning and running a pub! I still have a pint or two at the weekends, but Adam has made me realise that balance is everything.
· What is your favourite treat food?
I’m very old fashioned… I don’t like spicy food but have a good appetite! Can’t beat a good old fish and chips!
